It is being played on the August Bank Holiday the 30th and will be the usual 'Pro-Am' style format (best two scores each hole from the fourball), with all the usual added extras... Nearest-the-pins and Longest drives. Any member is welcome to play so if you haven't played in it before, please come along for a fun filled day, and for those of you who have, I hope to see you again on the day. Pro’s tip

Replace your long irons with a hybrid and make them do all the hard work!

The hybrid / rescue club combines elements of both an iron and a wood in its design. This combination of elements gives the club a lower and further back center of gravity in comparison to a long iron which aids in getting the ball airborne and, much like the modern day wood heads, makes the club more stable for both on and off center hits.

The higher launch angle and ball flight that players find they achieve with these clubs helps them to play shots out of the semi-rough where the long irons would have struggled, and also helps create a steeper descending angle into guarded greens helping to stop the ball easier where the long irons would normally run through.

I would be delighted for you to take out one of my demo hybrids next time your at the club.

I hope you enjoy, Happy golfing 2010!   John
